Great seafood in Newlyn, a stone's throw from the market!
Ben's first venture in Cornwall was the Abbey restaurant, Penzance where, with his wife Kinga, they set about offering the type of hospitality they themselves enjoy. In 2003 Ben was awarded a Michelin star, an accolade maintained until selling the restaurant in 2008.
Thereafter Ben was involved in the set up and opening of the Scarlet Hotel, Mawgan Porth, Cornwall. After two and a half years at the Scarlet Ben was keen to do something for himself again, and for sometime he had been thinking about a pub.
Having looked at a few, Ben became aware of the Tolcarne Inn, Newlyn. Not only was it a suitable little pub for Ben's vision of affordable and accessible quality food, but it was just a stone's throw from the fabulous Newlyn fish market. Negotiations started and a deal was done. In August 2012 Ben opened, serving great Newlyn seafood!
